the funny thing is that this Labor Day actaully started in US... In Chicago, May 1st, 1886, around 216000 workers had a big strike. then the international organization decided to make 5-1 the International Labor Day in 1889. In 1890, the first celebration in the world was actually in Europe.

But early in 1882 the same year in US, the whole United States celebrated this successful strike in September... then they thought they should celebrate every year in 1884. in 1887 Ohio State was the first state to make it a legal holiday and celebrate the Labor Day, which it on the first Monday of September. Then it comes to the Carolinas, New Hamshire, New York, and Massachusetts
