走在警视厅的佐藤刑警被众多同事纷纷注视着。此后，高木刑警被白鸟警长质问佐藤刑警所带戒指的事情。此时，佐藤的手机响起。高木完全没有搞清楚是怎么回事，而将视线望向佐藤，第一次注意到她左手无名指上戴着戒指。高木认为只有订婚的人，才在左手无名指上佩戴戒指，备受打击。同事们则误认为是高木赠送的婚约戒指，而高木坚决否认是自己赠送的。就在此时，佐藤接到了小兰打来的说有人死亡的电话。佐藤立刻决定和高木赶往现场。但是，高木太在意佐藤的戒指，一时没有反应过来…。
