O.o... well um wow 3 pages just on the definitation? This is the OFFTOPIC or OTHER thread i guess....

well spamming is to intent to gain somesort of reward (some is money, some is fun,etc..) from repetively sending out the same message over and over to a large group of people, or to do it over and over (repetively) in a same location, for example: http://img209.exs.cx/img209/1778/wc3scrnshot030905183954040hd.jpg

the repeated message was spam, it was created to stop the forum from working normally, as you can see the the message is just plain stupid, and it was repeated very quickly so no one else can post or talk or do anything while it hogs bandwidth or just keep scrolling ur words to the top

now i have no idea of what watering is, because in no other forum i have encounted this word for meanless threads, usually, if the place have a soecific topic, (EX. computer overclocking on a specific motherboard, like mine DFI Lanparty) we create a place in the forum called OTHERS (or OFF TOPIC) where any kind of chat is allowed...

now lookie here, this is the main page for the computer OCing page, u'll find it interesting to read if u ever get the urge to OC ur rig like i did and just to see the atmoshpere within this part of the forum is different then the next i will show you

this place is perhaps one of the most, well, its up to ur judgement after seeing somthing like "POLL-do ou have anal hair"...... that one went on for 5 pages b4 it was deleted........ and it was stated by a respected forum member as well..... i'd have to say, in the OTHER or OFF TOPIC most stuff is runt and spam and all that...... if this is what you would call watering, then i guess this is it...

well i personally never came across watering or flooding in any pure english forum i been to so i do not know if this is a chinglish (people who knows english but uses it in a chinese way, not the way it was supposed to be used in english)

and spam is a lot more then email nowdays, it was oginiall just email, but as e-space began to expand, this had become a source of profit, of pride, of heck even glory
i mean with soo many programs that block spam, its really something if you can get around all the security anti-spam stuff to get to annoy the people, so if you bring it to a technical term, spam could be a programer's best work, as that it works around some vernalability of some program (.NET microsoft anyone :P) and use that vernalibility to spam the crap out of someone...

that defination of spam is not wrong, its not completly correct as well, as all of you should know, inter and computer is growing at a exponential rate, and some defination may be good for it today, by tommrow its wrong.

the correct defination of avatar is someone, or something that represents you, it can be in a game, or a forum, or heck in real life that is a symbol of of you. This is a basic symbolization as in the avater symbolizes you, it gives the impression that it was you, while it is not you.

this is the defination in chinese, although that this is not perfact (there is no meaning of symbolization in the word) but since with any translation there are words that cannot be translated or cannot be perfectly translated, i think this might be one of them

people i have a solution the the language crisis, in about 5 years, more like 10 by the time it will be publcally and readily (cheaply) avaiable though

BTW this is in english and the summary is that they are develpoing a instant voice translation device that will translate from one lang to another one, this will be helped by sensors placed on your vocal parts (like the jaw, cheeks) and also from a microphone

now this is only 80% accurate in lab simulations, so it is clearly not ready for sale until some time
and of course wearing a head setnd carrying a comp with you is not that easy and stylish....

well we just had our first hail/snow over here, nice city in the northern ontario, it gets deadly cold here during winter like -31C after wind chill factor...

showing off in a forum is more like deliberatily brings up a topic that you know you execeed at, in real life its like a skill (skate board nearby somone and do a 180 then skates backwards, that is showing off when i can't even get on the damned board w/o it slip away....) or an item, like the ipod nano after the first day of release while most of my friends don't have mp3s or have them no name brands.....


so bascially showing off is like do some thing really acdvanced in skills, while the people who is there are newbies, or else more so when you buy suff that is like 10x more expensive than what people gets and constantly flashing it or something so that you notice it, for example, if i had brought my computer to the school it would be a show off, because there is no more than 100 machines in this city that could beat my computer in terms of computing power (personal computers anywas, not counting in the OLGC super computer lol) and that by doing that i'm showing off my machine and making everyone else looking bad, but most of the time when you are with people who are more "knowledgeable" its just making your self looking like retard.

i dunnio why but ppl in this forum seemingly mistakes lot of guys as girls...... like me...... and the problem is some peopole take offend to that lol (i don't care since this is the internet and there are no ID to say that you are a dude or a gal, if this was RL then that is another story)

just wondering, not offensively, how do you guys and gals ID people's gender here? i mean my grammarcial skills and use of massive amounts of slang (not to mention my hobby and avatar) clearly indicates me as a dude but something said that i was a girl, same with 大肚肚 and i'm just curious,
because most people i meet online are guys (the forums i been in are mostly guy stuff, its not that there are no girls in thei forum, but their names are clearly reflected of their gender, like Ned Flanders, anyone like the Simpsons most likely are a guy lol, and (just an exapme that i could pull off at this forum) i beleive lovelymanzzh is a girl, for the use of "lovely" in her ID. then there is avatars (if appliciable) the avatar  from 无情 is a indicator of girl to me because of the cute, large eyes of the character and the blushes under the eye, while something like my avatar, which is the Master Chief --Spartan 117 holding two (dual weild :P) SMGs (sub-machine guns), from a video game where MC fights back alien with Assult Rifles, Rocket Launchers,etc. you'd have a pretty good idea that i'm a guy... (again, not that girls don't play them, just that not many do)

i have explained how i ID people online of thier gender, so what is urs? common ones that i know including the geammer od the poster, the spelliing of the poster, the useage of words by the poster, the area of knowledge of the poster.

i know this all sounds very sterotypoed (i tried to keep it down as much as possible, but....) and again ike i said this was not intended to offend anyone, if i did i appologise, and i'm just curiose on the matter
