回复: 人生的意义是什么?What's the meaning of life??
海外的同胞们好乐观啊~~people in my school forums tend to be a little pessimistic, most likely because of IB. *sux*
excerpt from RHS forum:meaning of life? there is no meaning of life! when you're dead, you're dead! it doesn't matter if you earn a trillion dollars an hour or if you stay in pre-school for your whole life. Whats the point? after all of it, who cares?
your interpretation of the meaning of life will change through time, it is still a bit early to say life is meaningless ( though i say that all the time )
you need to search for your pupose in this world, you, and only you can define your own existence, and what is the meaning of life? i guess in a way it's defining your own existence.
For my opinon to meaning of life... I just do what I want to do when I want to, accomplish things, and do things that makes my mind happy and satisfied. As to when I die.... that's tough, I'm barely thinking of what to do after high school still... but hopefuly when I die, I'll have done soemthing significant enough to be remembered at least at my funeral...?
i think the meaning of life is to get bossed around, then when u grow up, u boss other people around!
The meaning of life is the search for one's own meaning of life. Humans need goals to push themselves to greater heights... and there is no goal greater than the search of why we are here and why we exist.I think the divergence of our viewpoint occurs where I believe that meaning of life is RELATIVE, that is, everybody will find their OWN meaning of life, whereas you believe meaning of life is universal, that is, there is only a singular meaning of life. Choosing to believe in the latter could be dangerous, and might be very disappointing.
And there are many questions that were not answered in a given life time. For example, the ancient math problem of circle squaring was unsolved for over 2000 years. Similarly, the most famous math problem in modern mathematics, Fermat's Last Theorem, was unsolved for more than 300 years. Questions like these are the driving forces behind our critical thinking. The answer is not what's important, how we arrive at an answer, or the process, is what's important. It's like going treasure hunting for something that really doesn't exist... at the end you realize that the journey and adventure was the real treasure. The friendships you build, the experiences you gained, the acquisition of new skills... this is analagous to many searches for religious artifacts. The journey and the fact that you undertook great hardships to search for something of religious significance is a better indication of your strong faith than finding the object itself. So, just remember... don't rush through the journey of life, savour every moment of it, and your life will be full of its own treasures and meaning.
