do people around youwho come from taiwan call themselves"taiwanese" and emphasize that taiwanese and chinese are different?
i dont know if it's just in our area. it happens a lot here. ...

How time flies.. the last time I was here we were talking about school year schedules.. and now I am already pre-registering for next semester.
And as for the Taiwanese thing.. yes people around me do that. There's even an official Taiwanese Student Association on campus. But the thing is that it totally depends - I know the president of Taiwanese Student Association in person, and he loves to stress that he is from Taiwan, and therefore he's Chinese. Another Taiwanese American girl on my floor talks as though Taiwan is heart of Asia and stuff. She never talks to me unless she can't finish her Chinese homework. How ironic. but the statement i heard was : taiwan&china = britain&USA .....
it comes from a person i really admire; i was really surprised when he said it..ihe was quite an intelligent person

奖励已发XD I avoid to talk about Taiwan-Mainland with people, even when they are all "mainlanders". Like we from our heart we know that "TW is a part of China", people from that island, especially young people, consider TW as an independent country. They really should give credit to Mr. Bian who have avoided this problem for a long time and spread the seed of "TW Independence" in people's hearts.
I guess I'm not a Angry Youth who wants to kill all the people thinking that way, but that idea really annoys me. Luckily I've not met anyone who would verbally abuses Mainlanders (although there are loads of Taiwanese here), and I won't have much time to think logically when I meet him/her~

Can you see it Du? Humans are selfish. As a consequence, the problem will never be resolved peacefully.When moral diplomacy fails, war will be the only answer. Of course, nobody likes wars, but still....our knownledge limits us to find a better answer for it.

well i cannot help myself= = i was taught this way in China, therefore, heavily influenced by this idea although I have never spoken up against those "taiwanese" here.

So you have been polically brainwashed. Well, no matter what your real belief is, you should never argue with
them, because in the end of the argument, you will feel nothing but hatred and anger towards the people who
are on the opposite side. This issue is far beyond our ability to resolve. It's better to just keep it inside or even
better forget it.
However, once you're in power, you should act based on the will of the majority, regardless what your true belief
is.
