回复: [禁水]日记本本[平和联盟]
My impressions of China are very very mixed. Overall, China is chaotic. People are still experimenting with life, with law, with each other, with themselves. A lack of experience and education and guidance leads people to act selfishly in their own interests. While this is capitalism at its very core, while this spirit is exactly why the economy is growing so fast, China's moral fabric is coming undone. People have no sense of courtesy, cooperation, rule of law, respect. Everything is me-first. These days, you won't even see a young person give his seat on the bus to an elder. Unless you show some money, no one will ever help you with anything. Even basic principles such as opening doors for others, cutting in line, not littering, not spitting are non-existant. Is this worth rapid economic development? I don't know. On one hand, I love how much people's lives have gotten better, but I can't stand how morals have not increased, maybe even decreased as the economy has grown. I am willing to bet money that Korea and Japan went through economic development without losing any of its traditional values of respect and politeness. Why must China be different?
Lastly, I have to say that the young people here are too spoiled! Having only one child is the WORST thing you could do to the kid. They are... UGH.... immature. And I thought rich snobbish ivy league kids were bad.
In conclusion, I would like to ask people if they know of good clubs in Beijing. By good, I mean good music, cheap drinks, and good eye candy. Thank you in advance. |
